Prep Zone Academy’s admissions team has been working with students applying to medical universities for years, and every year we see near a 100% success rate. Our students have been admitted to virtually every medical school in the UK, Ireland, and Australia that is accepted by the SMC, and includes some top names such as Cambridge, Imperial, and UCL.
Apart from helping you improve your UCAT and BMAT scores necessary to gain admission to medical school, Prep Zone offers in-house medical school application consulting from helping students with…
- school shortlisting based on profile and scores,
- brainstorming and editing of the personal statement,
- profile building,
- securing medical attachment and volunteering opportunities,
to interview preparation sessions. During these sessions, students will be exposed to near-identical conditions that they would encounter in your medical interview. Our admissions team will help them work on their communication skills and answer strategies, as well as review the plethora of possible question scenarios that may come up.
Medical School Interviews
Each university conducts interviews differently. Some prefer panels of admissions officers and professors, while others like MMIs (multiple mini interviews), where students rotate around different stations, each with a different question and a time limit for your answer. The questions generally test your personal motivation to study medicine at their specific university. They also care about your personal qualities such as empathy, leadership, and communication skills.
Some universities ask factual, knowledge-based questions, and almost all want you to demonstrate your knowledge about current affairs in medicine and healthcare systems. Finally, interviews may test your ability to role play and analyse ethical scenarios that you may encounter as a doctor later on.
