Prep Zone Academy โ€“ 2027 Intake

Medical Interview Prep Series 2026-27

A structured online programme designed to equip Medicine applicants, regardless of where they intend to study, with the knowledge, skills and confidence required to excel in medical school interviews.

At Prep Zone, we believe that “no knowledge is wasted”. A strong medical applicant is not simply someone who can answer a set of interview questions, but someone who understands healthcare, engages thoughtfully with medical and scientific issues, can analyse unfamiliar information, and is able to communicate ideas and share experiences; clearly and confidently.

Our Interview Preparation Series has therefore been designed to provide students with a “broad foundation of knowledge and transferable interview skills” that can benefit applicants across different countries, medical schools and interview formats.

The programme currently comprises 18 sessions, and while all sessions contribute to a student’s overall interview preparation, some have been designed to address the requirements or context of particular applicant groups.

For example, our “UK Healthcare System and NHS session” is particularly relevant for students applying to UK medical schools, helping them understand the healthcare environment they may be expected to discuss during their interviews. At the same time, developing an understanding of healthcare systems, their structure, challenges and priorities is valuable for medical applicants more broadly.

Similarly, our “article discussion sessions” are particularly useful for applicants to universities such as QMUL, where discussing an article forms part of the interview process. However, the benefit extends well beyond that specific interview format. Learning how to approach an unfamiliar article, identify key arguments, evaluate evidence, form a reasoned opinion and discuss ideas critically are skills that can strengthen “any medical interview”.

As the programme develops, we are also expanding its regional coverage. “Two sessions focused specifically on the Singapore healthcare system will be introduced in February 2027”, providing additional preparation for students applying to Singapore medical schools.

Our approach is therefore “inclusive rather than one-size-fits-all”: we aim to equip all our students with knowledge and skills that are broadly applicable, while also providing targeted sessions where a particular healthcare system, university or interview format requires additional preparation.

Because every piece of knowledge adds to a student’s understanding of medicine, and every opportunity to practise thinking, analysing and communicating helps build a stronger medical applicant.

The series will continue to evolve, with a combination of “universally relevant interview skills, medical knowledge, current healthcare discussions and targeted regional or university-specific preparation” โ€” ensuring that students can benefit from the programme regardless of where they ultimately apply.

  • Sessions: 18 live sessions
  • Schedule: 5 weekends (10 half-days)
  • Duration: ~60 minutes per session
